Happy December

YEA for CHRISTMAS!

I just love christmas! :) It's not the presents, but it's the family love and especially the music. I think that there is something magical about Nat King Cole singing Christmas music. Or the most picturesque thing is reading a book, by the fire with a big mug of hot chocolate and watching those big, white flakes fall down. I love it.

In other news, school is almost done! (Which is another reason to celebrate!) I have decided to not go to school this next semester and instead work A LOT and get ready for the wedding. With Ryan and I moving in a year and a half, and I only need seven more classes, I might as well just enjoy this time in singledom. It was really a debate on if I should take this semester off or the fall when I will first be married, however, since we're getting married in June, I'll have a good two months with Ry before we have to go back.

Wedding planning is coming along GREAT! I have been searching for the perfect, cheap reception decorations, and I think that I found some pretty, romantic alternatives to the giant chinese paper lanterns (and these ones I can make for a few bucks!). What do you think?

So, I really like the frilly-ness of these, I think that they match my flowers (peonies, carnations and roses). I was going to do the fabric and christmas light thing, but it needed something else! Wha-la!! I was thinking about making them in the shades of pink, white and my sangria-raspberry color. I could vary the sizes as well. I haven't made any of them yet, and I actually just found this idea tonight, but I have six months before the wedding (and once school is done I will have a TON of time on my hands to do fun stuff like this!) so I think that I can pull it off. I'll post pictures of my attempts...:)

Let me know what you guys think....pretty or cheesy?

Horsetail and T.Vs

So, these last few days have been crazy! We had the whole turkey day (which Ryan and I went to TWO different thanksgiving dinners...never have I been so full in my entire life!) and then black friday. Black friday was probably the highlight of Ryan's year (besides getting engaged of course!) He bought us a t.v. But not only any t.v...a giant 40'' t.v. He is so so excited to get it in the mail (he bought it on amazon!).

It doesn't look too impressive here, but Ryan seems to think it's the best thing since sliced white bread. He's so excited, it's actually kinda cute!

Anyways, besides that, school has taken up my life! I'm studying to become a pediatric nurse, and the semester is winding down. I also have been picking up hours at work (a local hospital) and I think that's it's becoming the perfect storm. I have not been able to sleep well at night, I just have way to many things running through my head (which is why I'm here and not sleeping!) I cannot wait for the semester to be done....I am going to take a week off and just relax and enjoy Christmas! It's really my favorite season, and you can miss it if your not careful!

On a happier note, I've been taking these vitamins for my hair, skin and nails (for the wedding...I want just more volume, not necessarily length and a better skin tone) and I've been taking them for a full week and a half, and today is the first day that I've noticed something different! So exciting!! I might be crazy, but I think that my hair feels better! YEA!! These vitamins first scared me-looking over the ingredients, they had 'horsetail extract'. I was shocked and disgusted! However, thanks to google, it turns out that horsetail is actually a plant. Silly me!
So make sure you always do your research! Ha-ha!

Anyways, I'm going to try to get some sleep...:)

First Steps

Everything has to start somewhere right? Well, my blog is starting here. At the moment, I am laying in my bed, listening to Shakira's newest "Give it up to me" (LOVE). I have nothing, I repeat, NOTHING to do today! This happens very rarely, it is a gift. However, I am so unmotivated, and so blahh....I could do wedding stuff, but I wanted to wait until spring to start anything new (have to space these things out, ya know?). Since I'm getting married in exactly 199 days, 6 hours and 29 minutes, I have a ton of time to do stuff that I need to get done. I'm not going to school next semester just because of work and wedding, this semester my grades suffered, and it's basically a waste of money. And with Ryan staying here one more year, I might as well enjoy my time off while I can!!

Ryan is my fiance. He's going for architecture. He's basically the reason we're getting married now (which is fine with me!). His school is a few hours away, and so unless I want to see him every other weekend (which is a no...have you seen the gas prices recently?) or I could pick up my life and move it out there (with no real commitment?). Both of those options didn't really work for us, so therefore we're engaged! YEA!! We've dated for three years (highschool sweethearts) and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!

I've gotten a lot of wedding stuff done, there are a few little things I need to do yet, however, most of the things are just paying off the total instead of just the deposits.

Anyways, I'll keep this one shorter since it's my first!
